Pillars of Pediatric Wellness

The approach of Little Zanies is based on 6 pillars of pediatric wellness that create thriving and adaptable children (and adults).

  • Sensory

Sensory self awareness of all our senses and their impact on how we experience the world.

Sensory self regulation of knowing what I need and how to get it.

  • Nutrition

Understanding why we eat for nutrients and drink for hydration.

Making self determined choices of what to eat and how that impacts our mind & body.

  • Movement

Posture for body awareness, alignment, and effective breathing.

Play that is varying, challenging, and explorative for a body that adapts well.

  • Sleep

Allowing the brain to process, organize & store memories for learning

Providing opportunity for the brain to “wash” and body to heal & grow.

  • Identity

Acquiring a sense of self that is autonomous with immutable worth.

Learning identity versus roles (what I do versus who I am) and preferences.

  • Relationships

Learning collaboration through communication and equity.

Being part of a community to embracing diversity as opportunities to learn and share.
